Joe Osmundson: Reading & Generative Writing Workshop
Joseph Osmundson is a scientist and writer based in New York City. His book of essays VIROLOGY was released by W.W. Norton in June. His research has been supported by the American Cancer Society, published in leading biological journals including Cell and PNAS, and he’s currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Biology at NYU. Osmundson’s writing has appeared in The Village Voice, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Gawker, The Kenyon Review, The Rumpus, The Lambda Literary Review, The Feminist Wire, and elsewhere. His hybrid-form book CAPSID: A LOVE SONG won the POZ Award for best HIV writing (fiction/poetry) and was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. His second book, INSIDE/OUT, a poetry/memoir hybrid, appeared in 2018.
Osmundson will present a reading and lead a generative writing workshop. This event is a presentation of the Small Literary Arts Center Coalition (SLACC), comprised of the Boutelle-Day Poetry Center at Smith College, the Rose O’Neill Literary House at Washington College, and the Stadler Center for Poetry & Literary Arts at Bucknell University
